Professor Xi Maohong and He Linan from Xiqian donated precious objects to the school.

On September 12th, Professor Xi Maohong and He Linan from Xiqian donated their important objects for many years to the school, including English typewriters, transistor radios, family-made wooden boxes, leather coats in the westward period, and dozens of professional books.

 

Professor Yu Maohong, a native of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, was born in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province in November 1934. He studied at Zhejiang University from 1951 to 1955. After graduation, he served as assistant professor of Jiaotong University and assistant professor, lecturer, associate professor and professor of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Professor Yu devoted his life to academic research in the field of mechanics. After retiring in 2005, he continued to work. His scientific research achievements won three first prizes, three second prizes, and the National Natural Science Award in 2011. Second prize, won the Hong Kong Ho Liang He Li Fund Mathematical Mechanics Award in 2015. Not only that, he also published five English academic books in the industry's leading publishing group Springer. Today, Professor Yu overcomes the serious eye problems and resolutely insists on writing and proofreading the Trilogy of Plastic Mechanics and the Trilogy of Geotechnical Mechanics.

Professor He Linan, born in March 1936, Cixi, Zhejiang, entered Jiaotong University in September 1955. He moved to the west with the school in 1956. He stayed in school after graduating in 1960. He retired in March 1996. Associate professor.

 

During the donation process, Professor Yu eloquently described the anecdotes of his work in school and the stories behind the donations. Long Yue, the deputy director of the Archives and Museum, also introduced to Professor Yu the current situation of the Higher Engineering Education Museum and the Xiqian Memorial Hall being prepared by the school, and listened to Professor Yu's helpful suggestions on the construction of the venue.
